Importing from abroad

As good as the retail market is in the United Kingdom, and as extensive as web shopping is in our country, there will always be things that you can only buy overseas. Be it specifically Asian products, or something specific from Europe, or America or maybe even from Australia (those hats with corks on really are something.) In cases like that you will have to import those products. Shopping online has its risks, we all know that, but shopping and importing these goods can carry even more risks, but nothing that you need to be overly concerned about if you’re careful and understand what you are dealing with.

You will need to be aware of things like import tax; sometimes you might see that included in the product price, while other times it will be added during checkout. The invention, and popularisation, of Paypal has made paying in this kind of instance much safer than it has been previously, so always be wary about using your cards during these import payments as well.
