Once the foremost format for listening to music; Vinyl has had an amazing existence, and recent turnaround. Following vinyl’s slow demise and the rise of the Compact Disc people assumed that the older format was sure to die out. Sure enough its popularity waned, as people moved from CDs onto MP3 players and, more recently, Apple’s all conquering iPod.
Something was brewing though; fans of retro attachments and hipsters were slowly reclaiming vinyl. At first it was a novelty; a deliberate stand against modernity and the rapid progression of technology. Soon enough, though, you could buy turntables and vinyl players that attached via USB to computers and laptops. They key element though was the sound. Once people went back to Vinyls they realised the huge improvement in sound quality over the more modern formats, and slowly but surely more modern albums are releasing on iTunes, CD and on Vinyl. Proof that quality is timeless.
